One of the District of Columbia’s dynamic and magnanimous figures, Brandon Tolson Sr- much better known to fans and supporters as DC Gudda and in the city he’s from simply “G“- has been electrifying the scene since the mid 2000s with unparalleled freestyle ability, an attention commanding presence and a charisma that sometimes belies his fierce skill and no nonsense approach to hitmaking. Gudda is a father, a leader, a teacher and is no stranger to the streets having lived in some of the roughest neighborhoods in the Capital region including the notorious Housing Project Potomac Gardens
Its easy to talk or even rap about the street life but DC Gudda is a product of the street life. As a youth Gudda found his way to crime after the passing of his mother. Before he found his way to the microphone he was sentenced to Juvenile life after the armed robbery of a U.S. senator and his family at age 14. Upon his release he became a dad and began taking more than a passing interest in writing lyrics and displaying a ferocious freestyle rapping ability began making a name for himself on the independent circuit. Tragedy would unfortunately strike, first in 2007 when he was shot during a fight and then in 2009 when his older brother lost his life due to violence in Washington D.C. These events would have lasting consequences and shaped Gudda’s life.
Forged from pain, free from futility: 100 Gz Productions was founded in 2011 with the goal of breaking down the barriers that existed for DC artists at the time. From a humble home studio Gudda recorded 100s of songs and freestyles over a 3 year period, culminating in his debut album “G Street: The Beginning,” and the 100 Gz compilation. After catching the attention of Canadian super producer BigBob Gudda went on to feature extensively for the producer and over the next 4 years would release multiple projects including an EP “The Seventh Sign,” a mixtape “Fuck Yo Swag Vol. 1” and a sophmore album “District Ties” Currently Gudda is preparing his next solo project as well as joint ventures including the upcomin "Hit Em Wit Da Wu Vol. 1" mixtape, a tribute to Wu Tang Clan featuring longtime partner in rhyme, Wooden Souljah as well as preparing to make his film debut in upcoming thriller, "Sacrifice vs Reward"
